Lisa Mitchell earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Southern Nazarene University. During her 21 years as a public-school educator, she taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades, including 6 years as a bilingual teacher. Lisa stayed home for several years when her kids were young, but even during her time away from the classroom, she still continued educating children by teaching for a homeschool co-op and conducting Spanish classes out of her home. Lisa spent the last 10 years of her teaching career working for Midlothian ISD, earning the title of “Mt. Peak Teacher of the Year” during her last year on staff. Lisa and her amazing husband, Kyle, were married in 1997. They have four incredible children: Makenzie, Ian, Caed and Braedan. When she’s not playing Taxi Mom or sitting in the stands watching her kids’ band performances, Lisa enjoys Bible journaling and scrapbook planning. All these things are made even more enjoyable if she has a mug of coffee in her hand!
